Understanding Medicare Supplements/Medigap Plans

Original Medicare Parts A and B will pay for some of your medical needs, but not all of the cost for covered health care services and supplies.

Medicare Supplement Insurance also known as Medigap policies are sold by private companies, and can fill in the gaps of cost not covered by Medicare such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Medicare Supplement Plans Are Standardized

Medicare Supplement plans are standardize, which means each plan offered by insurer must be identical in benefits. However, can vary in cost.

Example: PLAN N must be the same in benefits from insurer to insurer, however the cost can vary, making some insurers more affordable then others.

As a broker, we compare the cost to assure you are choosing an affordable plan. However, it’s even more important to understand the coverage. Affordable coverage that doesn’t meet your needs is not a solution. Once a solution is found, we make the enrollment process easy.
