There was a time in my life when success felt like something other people experienced. I wasn’t chasing big dreams or following a master plan—I was just trying to take the next right step.

I didn’t set out to become an insurance agent, but in 1995, I got my license and started helping people navigate Medicare. One client at a time, I found myself building a business. In 2000, I opened Pinetree Retirement Planning, now known as PRP Insurance. Years later, I took another unexpected leap—opening an 8,000 sq. foot sports bar and grill. Neither were part of some polished five-year plan. I wasn’t “ready” in the traditional sense. But I showed up anyway.

I’m sharing this because maybe you’re standing where I once stood—ready in your heart, but unsure in your mind. Maybe you feel the pull toward something more, even if you can’t quite name it yet.

Here’s what I know: you don’t have to have it all figured out to take the next step. You just have to be willing. Willing to show up. Willing to learn. Willing to fail forward if that’s what it takes.

I wrote a book called Finding Lindy about that very process—about rebuilding, discovering who I really was, and learning that success isn’t about titles or timelines. It’s about becoming someone you’re proud of.
